Ts̲ēmā is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist, mentor, mentee and descendant of Tāłtān Matriarchy. Using strategies of care and resistance Ts̲ēmā creates work that connects materials to mine sites and bodies to the land. This practice cites her Indigenous mentorships, Potlatch, studies in visual culture, and time in the mountains. She has studied at K'saan, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and earned an Interdisciplinary Masters of Art Media and Design from OCADu. Ts̲ēmā has exhibited and performed on Turtle Island, and beyond.

Edōnemā is a certified teacher and a certified therapist holding an M.Ed in counselling and a B.Ed. She holds gratitude to have worked for many years in Tāłtān territory as a teacher and principal at Klappan School in Łuwechon.

She has worked as a trauma counsellor for women, and currently enjoys her role as a counsellor for children & youth at K’san Society in Tsimshian territory.

Cole Pauls is a Champagne and Aishihik Citizen and Tahltan comic artist, illustrator, and printmaker hailing from Haines Junction (Yukon Territory). He holds a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University. Residing in Vancouver, Pauls has created three graphic novels: Dakwäkãda Warriors (2019), Pizza Punks (2021) and Kwändür (2022). In 2017, Pauls won Broken Pencil Magazine’s Best Comic and Best Zine of the Year Award for Dakwäkãda Warriors II. In 2020, Dakwäkãda Warriors won Best Work in an Indigenous Language from the Indigenous Voices Awards and was nominated for the Doug Wright Award categories The Egghead & The Nipper. In 2022, Artspeak gallery, Vancouver, held the first solo exhibition of Pauls’ work, Dazhän Kwändür ch’e (This is a Story)

Candis Callison is the Canada Research Chair in Indigenous journalism, media, and public discourse, and an Associate Professor in the School of Journalism, Writing, and Media, and in the Institute for Critical Indigenous Studies. Her research and teaching are focused on changes to media practices, the rise and persistence of Indigenous journalism on digital platforms, journalism ethics, the role of Indigenous and environment-focused social movements in public discourse, and understanding how climate change becomes meaningful for diverse publics.

Tāłtān multidisciplinary artist Alysha Hawkins practice centers around filmmaking, photography, painting, and cultural activities such as sewing and beading. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Visual Arts degree at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Growing up in Łuwechōn and through my adult years I spent a lot of time with my grandparents learning what I can to grasp the full understanding of our language Didenek’e. Over the years I did some work with the Tahltan language revitalisation program documenting and researching the language as well as a mentor in the tahltan language adult courses in Dease Lake and also a mentor in the Mentor Apprenticeship (MAP) Program.
